Fall Fun

They can hear him coming way before the truck is even visible. My dad's truck provides hours of fun for our boys. Beeping the horn, turning the steering wheel, riding on the back, etc. Every boy's dream. Isaac tried on Grandpa's gloves the other night. He's got some growing to do. We tried to do some family pictures this weekend since the weather was so nice and I have yet to capture a photo of me with all three of my children. Isaac would have none of it. We had to settle for separate shots of Eric and the kids and then me and the kids. Yup, these are the best we could get. Can you tell how happy Isaac feels about our request? Ah yes...guess we'll just have to keep practicing. Our "real" family portrait session is next weekend. Pray that Isaac decides to cooperate and that mommy stays calm.

Two for Two

Less than two hours spent in his tree stand this year. Two arrows. Two deer. Two delighted little boys. One happy hunter. One full freezer. Yeah, I'd say my husband has been pretty successful this hunting season. I'm so proud of him!

Pumpkin Patch

Today Malakai's preschool class went to a local pumpkin patch and picked pumpkins. The rain stopped just long enough for us to get a wagon ride out and back before another heavy downpour. He had a blast with his little buddies. I'm thankful to have shared this field trip with him while Grandma kept his siblings. He loves one-on-one time with Mommy.

Sibling Love

The boys are very affectionate towards their little sister. Isaac is learning how to give kisses and practicing quite often on Mommy and Hadassah. I love it! I asked Eric to take a picture of me and my girl since I don't think I have any of her and I since the day she was born. There is a whirl of activity around the house these days so when I do pick up my camera, I feel like it's a big accomplishment. I'm sure other mommas of young children at home can relate. Showering, nursing, doing laundry (including folding and putting it away), nursing, cooking meals, nursing, kissing boo-boo's, reading Cindarella (Malakai's current favorite book) for the zillionith time, nursing, and cleaning out the dishwasher are the things that take priority on any given day. And if I'm really lucky, a nap :) Life is full. Life is a miracle. It takes a lot of support to raise children. I am so thankful that my mom lives across the street from me and helps me out so much! And my mother-in-law gives of her time as well. They've both "been there...done that" so I know I'm not alone! Praise Jesus for family!

Family Time

This past week we celebrated Eric's birthday. He had lots of help blowing out his candles and we had two incredible birthday meals. Eric got a doe last Saturday on the first day of archery season, so we enjoyed some venison steak. We both think it's as good (or better) than candy. The front door has been welcoming lots of guests who want to meet little Hadassah and our frig is full of good eats! Truly, we are in a season of celebration and feasting.

Wedding Bells

On Saturday, Eric and I (and Hadassah) went to our dear friends, Joe & Melissa's wedding. It's been a long time since we were guests and not photographers at a wedding and let me just say, it's a whole different world on the other side of the camera! Honestly, we felt like we missed 3/4 of the storyline of the day because we were only there for the ceremony and reception with no other requirements. I really missed being part of the whole day from start to finish, but with my two-week old baby girl there, I was thankful to just snap a few pictures, eat some food, and dance with my husband for a few moments. The day was perfect. Incredible location, incredible decor, and incredible couple. My heart was full to overflowing, so the tears were falling as I watched these two individuals become one. God is faithful to ALL that He has promised! Joe & Melissa...the best is yet to come!
