Our Fathers

They are one of the most important parts of our families. Lead, guide, laugh with, discipline, teach...the list is long. I am so thankful for Eric as he is an amazing father to our three growing children. I love to watch him love on them! Both of our dads are very present in our lives as well. Grandpas are a special part of family life too. Here we are having some back yard fun together...

11 Years Together

We enjoyed a 30 hour get away for our anniversary this past weekend. Amazing how a little time away can greatly refresh a marriage. Stayed at a local B&B, went out to dinner, and Eric surprised me with tickets to Les Miserables at the Fulton Opera House in Lancaster. And he even bought me a little black dress for the occasion. Spoiled much? The next day, we went canoeing and hiking on a muddy trail. One extreme to the next. We have experienced so many mountain tops and valleys in our marriage and I am so thankful that the journey keeps getting sweeter.

To The Campground We Go

We figured out that we have gone camping together for the past seven years. It started out as just Eric and I and my cousin, Marvin. Then we added in his beautiful wife, Dori, and then foreign exchange students, our dog Gideon and five children...one by one. What used to be Landis/Martin, party of three is now...party of nine. Oh what fun! This past weekend we hit the Roxbury campgrounds once more for a few days of relaxing, cooking over campfires, smores, hiking, ball field running, tiny frog finding, bike riding, guitar playing, creek stomping, a trip to BB's, and encouragement to our spirits. We always look forward to this family tradition and love to see all of our kids becoming good friends. Nothing like the great outdoors!

It's Almost Summer

Today is my kindergartener's last day of school. He keeps asking when summer starts. This afternoon, buddy, this afternoon! We are loving this incredible weather and stay outside as long as possible. I am looking forward to many more nights like last night together...
