Martin Family

We all slept over night at Eric's parents' house for the first time on Friday night. We did some last minute family pictures with a tripod and of course Eric running back and forth after setting the self-timer. (He loves that job :) Family campfire with smores and mountain pie goodies and then we all headed to our different sleeping locations. Malakai and I were on our air mattress in the living room next door to Amber and Prentice. Darrel & Kelly were in their tent. Jason and Tirza slept in the hay mow. Mom and Dad slept in their room and Roanna and Eric slept in their hammocks. To each his own, I guess. Oh the fun memories that we made and campfire stories that were told!

Fall is for family

Eric had another birthday this weekend and we had a great time celebrating his life. Saturday we had pizza at Long's Park and then did some clothes shopping at Park City. We got a movie, ate some ice cream and then the next night had dinner at my parents' house. I love spreading out the parties :) Malakai enjoyed a combine ride with his Uncle Darrel a few days ago as you'll see below. He was overjoyed to experience this :) And Malakai loves the fall. He picked out his own pumpkin the other day and likes to haul it around now. I made the first pumpkin pie of the season and drank some apple cider this past week...I think I was made for this kind of weather.

Hess Family

Kelly and I met through some mutual friends and soon discovered we both were photographers. We had so much to talk about! Our friendship continued to grow as our sons are only 4 months apart and love playing together. They couldn't be more opposite and that is what I love about friendships. Opposites attract. Kelly has wanted me to do family portraits for over a year and finally the time was right for it to happen. The kids did great, well...there may have been a few times where Ella tipped over and did some face plants or ate some unnamed weeds but hey, that's just how life is, right?! Photographing your friends is always extra fun and makes everyone feel relaxed and comfortable. 'Cause, Kelly...it really IS harder being the subject and not the photographer, isn't it? How can you not love this adorable family...
