12 Weeks
Isaac is now almost 3 months old and heading into the next phase of clothing. 3-6 months is now ready to go and so is he. I forgot how quickly a newborn packs on weight in the first few months of life. He is now sleeping through the night and gaining more head control. I think it's soon time to break out the Bumbo seat for him. I'm now a mother of a 3-year old and a 3 month old. Time does not stand still and for this I am thankful...most days. Eric grabbed a few shots of us together this morning since it seems I am usually the one behind the camera instead of in front of it. I don't think I have any pictures of just Isaac and I since the day he was born. Oops. So, do you think we look alike?

Oh Baby
It was about 4 years ago when Gideon first introduced us. That's right, our dogs were the reason we met at 6th Ward Park in Lancaster City. We were taking Gid on a walk and stopped at the park and saw this other couple with their dog. Gid went over to check her out and soon him and Chloe became good friends. And so did their owners. We went hiking together, shared a love of photography, and always enjoyed catching up at the park. Nate & Janele even bravely offered to dogsit for us a few times when we had a wedding to photograph all day.
Since then, they have added another dog, Sadie to their family and most importantly, in less than a month, they will be welcoming a baby boy into their lives! His name is still in debate :) Recently, they moved about an hour away so we don't get to see them regularly, but Janele contacted me about doing maternity portraits and I was thrilled. They came to Lancaster for the weekend for their "Babymoon" and we had a fun photo session while they were here. Nate & Janele, I am so excited for you and can't wait to meet your little miracle very soon!

Road Trip
We are blessed. Really blessed. My brother and his family live 2+ hours away up in State College. And our little boys travel like pros. Yesterday we spent the day up there with them. Isaac slept pretty much the whole way there and the whole way home. He even stayed asleep when we stopped for a quick bite to eat at Subway on the trek home. Pretty sure that wouldn't be every traveler's story so I'm enjoying it while it lasts.
Wendall & Emily just built a house and it's simply beautiful in every way. And silly me, I didn't even take pictures of the outside because I was so busy enjoying all the incredible natural light pouring through the windows. It really is a photographer's dream to photograph indoors in a house with so much light and high ceilings. Our 4-year old nephew, Clayton met Isaac for the first time and he didn't want to put him down once he started holding him. He was so excited to meet his new cousin.
There are 5 little calves in the barn right now and we thought maybe we'd get to see some more being born but the cows decided to wait until we weren't around. Clayton and Malakai buzzed around on Clayton's little gator and we enjoyed a walk in the woods together. It was actually flurrying a little bit...oops, I didn't even take a coat along. I was SURE it was spring by now! It's always so fun to go up to their farm and take a little road trip. I know the boys always love being together and look forward to cousin time.

Maya Hope: newborn
Maya: mother; great one
Her name literally means "one of great hope" and how true. Her birthday is March Fo(u)rth and she will no doubt march forth towards her destiny! I love names that have deep rooted meanings. Kirsten was attempting her first birth after cesarean. And it was a wonderful success story. Maya was caught by her dear friend and colleague, Rachel which was not planned but I think God knew all along that's how the story would be written. Once she was in the hospital, Kirsten's doctor had to leave for other obligations and after much discussion, Rachel moved from being a labor support person to the doctor. Does it get any easier? Here is Baby Maya only 5 days into her life.

10 Weeks
Isaac is now 10 weeks old and developing more skills every day. The most recent is smiling and laughing. He's actually starting to play with some toys too. Sometimes he'll go 7 hours at night but usually it's still 5-6 hours. I'm feeling more like I have a routine beginning, or maybe it's that it's starting to feel normal to be more chaotic with more than one child. Either way, I'm thankful that life has stages. I'm enjoying this one for the moments it will last.

Harrisburg Capitol
This morning our friend Andrew gave Malakai and I a tour of the capitol building. I have a photo session scheduled there in a few weeks and wanted to see it beforehand. What a beautifully stunning building for sure. Malakai loved going on an adventure with Mommy while Isaac stayed home with Grandma. Check it out...
