Pig Tails & Pop Guns

It was a momentous day in our home yesterday. Hadassah got pig tails for the first time and the boys got pop guns. You can imagine all the excitement over both land marks. I couldn't believe my baby girl had enough hair to pull back into tiny little ponies. Oh.My.Goodness! I almost died of cuteness overload several times. She is really starting to remind me of myself as a little girl. And the boys were so ecstatic about their guns. They are true hunters...just like their daddy. We have encouraged them to have targets to aim at...preferably not each other. They do pretty well...Gideon may have been "shot" at on more than one occasion.

The 9 snow days over the past two months have made us rather stir crazy, so creativity needs to be functioning at a high level. If that isn't the case, we march across the street (literally) to Camp Grandpa/Grandma for a change of scenery. Such was the case this morning after the two hour delay, which sounded like a dream after so many snow days, was yet again changed to "closed". I nearly lost my victory in motherhood, so I called my dear momma and sang, "Wash me and I will be whiter than snow...we're comin' over, don't ya know!" Desperate times calls for desperate measures,  or at least...lots of old hymns and a Dutchy accent ;)

It is a Happy Valentine's Day here and I am so thankful for my parents who love me and their grandchildren enough to let us hang out for several hours doing the following:

-playing in the snow
-making homemade valentines
-farming on the living room carpet
-eating lunch together
-laughing
-reading books
-telling stories of winters past
-napping
