Mackenzie: Senior

She really is the sweetest thing ever and I love her country flare on life. Reminds me of the country song, "American Honey". We had a great time milling around our neighbor's rustic barn. He thought we were nuts for wanting to use it for the photo session but it now happens to be one of my all-time favorite spots. These are some of our conversations that evening together.

Me: "Are you growing your hair for Locks-For-Love?"
Kenzie: "I've had a lot of pressure to, so yeah, I think so. I haven't cut it for 3 years now."

Me: "I love your boots!"
Kenzie: "Thanks, me too. I wore them to the prom."

Me: "Hey Anita," (her mom who can identify poison ivy more quickly than myself, who happens to have it all over my body right now), "is that vine poisonous?"
Anita: "No...YES...no...Don't go near that one!...Get away from this one right now!"

Mackenzie loves her family and friends, the great outdoors, all kinds of animals, field hockey, and of course, country music. She is hoping to go to college to study social work. Meet this beauty...

Jess: Senior

I will be a senior at Lancaster Mennonite School this year.
I am a three-sport athlete: middle hitter on the volleyball team, basketball forward, and soccer goalkeeper.
I truly enjoy being busy with these three sports and all the friends I’ve made along the way.
I am the editor-in-chief of the Yearbook Committee.
I am also a member of the National Honor Society.
I couldn’t live without country music, the Phillies, my awesome friends, and Sportscenter.
I'm not sure what college I'm going to yet, but planning on majoring in nursing and playing basketball.

Jumpin'

Isaac has been spending a lot of time in his jumper these days. The shrill laughter, gasping and bouncing seems to float his boat. I'm more than happy to watch and enjoy the show. Usually Malakai jumps up and down with him and we all end up in a pile on the floor laughing together. My boys are really starting to enjoy each other and I am looking forward to more days ahead with them running around together. For now Isaac is just beginning to lunge for toys and rock back and forth. Prepare for take off in 3...2...1...

Raystown Lake Weekend

We have been going to this spot for the last ten years. That makes me feel old. The first time I went, Eric and I were only dating. We always go tenting, boating, swimming, play games, eat way to much, and enjoy late night campfires together. This was the first year we had two kiddos in the tent with us and it went amazingly smooth. I was actually very surprised and felt excited to go camping again next weekend and Labor Day weekend. It can be done! Our family enjoys this time away at the cabin and always come back with some good stories to share and memories to tuck away.
