Good Help...

Ella Sophia-August 21st

There is something so precious about doing a newborn photo shoot. Ella was only 6 days old when I got to meet her and take her first of many professional pictures to come! She is perfect in every way and if I am saying that, imagine how mommy and daddy must feel every time they look at her. Life is such a miracle! Lance and Lindsay, I believe that you will be and already are incredible parents-you both have such sweet spirits. It was an honor to capture a few moments of life with your new daughter. Enjoy the journey of parenthood.

Laura-August 16th

Thank You, Jesus for your perfect timing. This morning I met Laura at Black Rock Retreat in Kirkwood. It was pretty overcast, but I was praying the whole way there that the LORD would hold back the rain until after our photo shoot was finished. He did just that. We began at 8:45 and at 10 o'clock when we were finished, it started to rain and it really left loose! I was laughing the whole way home. Why should I be surprised? That's the God I serve! He even cares about whether or not my photo shoots get rained out or not. Anyway...Laura was one of my campers way back in the day when I was a camp counselor at BRR. She says she still has some really funny pictures of me from that year. I can only imagine. Camp was one of those life changing experiences for me that I will always treasure. Just driving down there this morning I felt fully alive and was worshipping in my car at the top of my lungs. It really is a place of refreshment. So we went all over camp...the gazebo, the beloved Granny swings, the shed, the dock, the lake. It was a really fun time for both of us. Laura, I pray that this year is a year of unexpected blessings for you at LMH. I am excited to see where God takes you next. Now that you are learning Spanish at a college level, maybe He'll send you to Latin America! I know you said you are thinking about Cananda and maybe there are some Spanish Canadians there too. Love ya, girl!

Kelsi-August 13th

Talk about looking like a splitting image of someone! Kelsi is a cousin to Sarah who I did senior pictures for last summer. For those of you who have seen my business cards, Sarah is the one on them. You will probably remember her face as soon as you see Kelsi's. Long's Park is so much nicer now that a bunch of the wild geese have moved on. Well, there is still goose poop in certain spots, but it's not nearly as bad as I recall from other portrait shoots there. Kelsi, thanks for making the trek down to Lancaster from Chester County. It was fun meeting you and your friend, Steph who will have her face on my blog in a few weeks as well. You are a beautiful young woman and I hope you have a great field hockey season this year.

Fellenbaum Family-August 11th

It was a gorgeous night for a family photo shoot. The humidity had finally broken and it felt refreshing. The Fellenbaum's live on a dirt road up in Mount Joy, PA. The road used to be a farm lane. There are only two houses on it and both are Fellenbaum's. It was a fun family to capture, and all of them are wonderfully photogenic. Natalie, their 6-year old, found and caught a frog right before I began taking pictures. She was ecstatic and named him Hopper. Her sweet spirit made her beautiful. Brittany, her older sister has her own dog named Scout. He was dressed for the occasion, complete with a black bow tie around his neck. Eric and Gideon (our puppy) were along with me too. They had fun taking a walk down the dirt lane while I took pictures. Randy and Dorcas, thanks for letting me hang out at your house with your family for the night. It was enjoyable for me to photograph you and your girls.

Drew & Justine-August 4th

I guess you have to be a teacher to appreciate getting married in August...the hottest month of the year. It seems like all the weddings I do over the summer have at least one teacher in the couple. Justine is the teacher. Drew & Justine are such a sweet pair. Everything was simple and beautiful about their wedding. The ceremony was at her parents' church, Union Presbyterian. Then they hitched a ride on the Red Rose Trolly to Lancaster Mennonite School for some pictures back by the Millstream. The trolly was a surprise for Justine and her face lit up when she walked out of the church to her awaiting ride! Even if we did take the scenic route around town, the trolly was a fun extra to the day. Drew and Justine, thanks for letting Eric and I capture your wedding day. May you enjoy all the greatness of a new marriage!
