Matt & Jess: Married in the Meadow

She was elegantly stunning on her wedding day. And why wouldn't she be? She had waited her whole life for this moment. The moment where she would be escorted by her dad and walk down the aisle towards her soon-to-be husband. Jess and I met at Messiah College over 10 years ago on the field hockey team. She was a year older than me and I always looked up to her and valued her wisdom in my life. To photograph her wedding was a high honor for me. Was there a little bit of emotion that Sunday afternoon? Absolutely. Did it rain? Sure did. Was anyone grouchy about getting wet? No way. We were all just so excited to be there watching this wedding unfold. During the ceremomy, the pastor said, "Our God reigns, our God reigns, our God reigns!" I watched with tears in my eyes as Jess' best friend, Meg (whose wedding I photographed just a few months ago in January) came over and held an umbrella over Matt & Jess as the LORD "reigned" on them. What a perfect picture of His great love poured out on us.

Like only the LORD could and would do, as soon as the ceremony was over, the sun came out and the rest of the afternoon was absolutely gorgeous. I wasn't surprised, not even a little :) They were married in a meadow with sheep in the background, a waterfall, tall grasses, and a big white tent. There were even some yard games for everyone to enjoy while they waited for the meal to be served. Matt & Jess, you really are perfect for each other. Each one of you brings your own unique gifts to this marriage and that is exactly why you were meant to be. Your camels have indeed come! And wasn't it so worth waiting for?!

God was so honored in their ceremony and it was such a special day. You did an AMAZING job capturing it! Oh, I am weeping AGAIN! Its WONDERFUL!
Love to you both! I hope to see you again soon!
