How they met:
In 7th grade at middle school marching band when Jolyn ran into Travis with her base drum. It was love at first beat.
The Engagement Story:
The story begins with Travis' epic journey with Jolyn's dad to the gun shop. It took dear Travis to Richland and back (about an hour round trip) before he had the nerve to ask for her dad's blessing. What was he thinking? There was a brand new shot gun in the back seat. Two days later, an excited Travis visited a jewelry store to purchase a ring. An hour later he appeared at the Millersville University campus to surprise Jolyn. They took a walk to the romantic Millersville pond. He had her sit on a bench beside him and pulled a ring box out of his pocket. Then he asked Jolyn for her hand in marriage and she replied with a giddy yes. In all the excitement, Travis accidentally opened the ring box upside down, in which the ring fell out of the box, through the bench, and almost in the pond. Travis' heart sank and Jolyn laughed, but the ring was retrieved and placed on her finger.
They were engaged for 4 years and finally tied the knot during an outdoor ceremony last weekend at Drumore Estate. As I watched Jolyn and Travis both tearing up as they worshipped together and shared their vows, I had to keep wiping my eyes. It was so refreshing. So encouraging. Love that has been developing through many years of shared friendship. What an honor to watch as two lives became one. Sharing in their complete joy with each other and with the God who led them into this new marriage. My heart is excited when I think about all that their glittering future holds.
I just love the photos of my niece and her wedding. They capture the emotions, the beauty and the joy of the day in such creative ways. THANKS so much!! What a great job!
