Sam & Alecia: Hitched

It may have been almost 110 degrees on the day they were married, but it didn't change the fact that they had planned a powerful wedding ceremony with a gorgeous outdoor reception at the Conewago Manor Inn. We almost melted but thanks be to God for lots of cold drinks and shade from the trees! Their day will be extra memorable in my book.

Sam & Alecia are one sweet couple. They met at Camp Hebron while on staff at summer camp and God began leading their hearts together in ways even they didn't recognize at first. Both of them have huge hearts for ministry and loving on people in the midst of their greatest needs. I was brought to tears many times throughout the day as I heard testimony after testimony of the acts of service that both individuals have poured out to friends and strangers in need. And the best part of it all is their adoration for each other. Sam busted into tears of joy as he watched his beloved bride, Alecia walking towards him holding onto her father where just minutes before, the groomsmen happily snapped their fingers as the bridesmaids "side-stepped" down the aisle to "Chapel of Love".

Some of my favorite details of the day included: footwashing during the ceremony (Eric and I did this on our wedding day and I absolutely love the symbolism), yellow socks and shoes, hats for the ladies, lip syncing to "Come Sail Away", candy bar, hilarious father/daughter dance, battery-operated mini fans for the bridesmaids, top hats, picture of the bride and groom to color...and, and, and. The creativity was endless. Sam & Alecia, may the LORD continue to bless your (yellow) socks off with His great love for you. Marriage is one gift that continues to get better every single day. I can testify to this truth! Honor, cherish, love...the best is yet to come.
