It is so much fun to watch my clients grow up! I took Colby's mommy's pregnancy pictures before we could see his face, then I did his newborn pictures and now I got to do his 3-month pictures. He is so adorable and growing like crazy. Jade just turned 2 years old and is becoming quite a little lady. Sarah, you are an incredible mom. I am encouraged as I watch you interact with your children. You love them so much and it is very evident. When it's my turn some day, you'll have to instill in me some of your wisdom. I look forward to continuing to capture your family as everyone is growing and changing so much in this stage of life. Enjoy some of my favorites.

Jason & Jodi-August 18th
I remember this day being a beautiful one. There was no humidity, the sky was bright blue and the day was tons of fun for Eric and I. Jodi was such a fun-loving bride, as you will see in some of my favorite images below so that was fun to capture her in some of her "moments". They guys were so stress-free that they even got to shoot some hoops at the church before the ceremony. Jason and Jodi were headed to Jamaica for their honeymoon but I'm not sure if they got there because the hurricane hit that same day right where they were going. I guess it doesn't matter where they ended up, they were together and finally married! It was a lot of fun to do your wedding, Mr. and Mrs. Todd and I pray that you would continue to be pulled closer to each other and the One who brought the two of you together.

Kennel Family-August 23rd
The 9-member Kennel clan gathered in Grandpa and Grandma Kennel's yard for an evening photo shoot. Little Landon wasn't so sure if he was in the mood to have his pictures taken, but with everyone's creativity and some of Grandma's cookies, he made it! Kennel's, it was fun to capture your family together before some of you head off to your new home in South Carolina. Zach and Meg, Eric and I will miss you, but we bless you as you continue to pursue the call of God on your lives. Enjoy some of my favorite shots. I hope you are all having fun at the beach together as a family for one last time.

Lead me to the Rock
Sometimes I just want to share with you some of my thoughts without always having to post a new project. Tonight is one of those nights. Let me share a little...
Last night my husband, Eric and I had a long overdue worship session (Gideon, our puppy was present too, but he fell asleep.) I play the guitar and Eric asked if we could just worship in our living room together. Over the years, this has been a common occurance, but recently in the busyness of life, this is one thing that has gotten pushed to the side. Well, it was so refreshing for both of us. I used to lead worship a lot in many different venues. Funny, how before I was a wedding photographer, I was always the wedding singer. Leading wedding worship or doing wedding special music. I guess the LORD really wants me at weddings wether I'm singing, or taking pictures.
As we worshipped spontaneously, the song "The More I Seek You" began to pour out of my mouth. Here are the words:
The more I seek You, the more I find You
The more I find You, the more I love You
I want to sit at Your feet, drink from the cup in Your hands
Lay back against You and breathe, and feel Your heartbeat
This love is so deep, it's more than I can stand
I melt in Your peace, it's overwhelming me
I have been finding myself feeling rather dry, even though I am so completely fulfilled in my work as a photographer, it is draining at times. It takes all of me. Yet, when I can go to the Father, just as I am and lay back against Him and breathe and feel His heart beat, it is there, I find all that I need for my weary soul and spirit. Then from those sweet times with Him, I can find new life again in my work, my life, and my calling.
The scripture that came to me last night as we worshipped was from the Psalms. It's one of my all time favorites, probably my life verse. I began to sing it over and over and over again until it sank in. I don't have to do this on my own. He is greater.
"From the ends of the earth I call to You, I call as my heart grows faint: lead me to the Rock that is higher than I." Psalm 61:2
May you be encouraged wherever you are and whatever you find yourself investing in. There is one who is so much greater than you and your own strength. If you find yourself overwhelmed, climb onto the Rock... Jesus. He is a strong refuge. Nothing can shake you once you are standing on that Rock. When I know that truth, I can rest and be overwhelmed in His peace instead of my to-do list. You can do the same.
Thanks for letting me share my heart with whoever reads this. I love to share my photography with you. I want to share my Jesus with you too. He is the one who helps me to capture people's lives through the lens of my camera. I pray that through my photography, He captures your heart as well.

Dustin & Janelle-August 17th
Lauxmont Farms....Cobblestone Courtyard....need I say more?! We had an incredible day for pictures last Friday. This was my first wedding at this location and I hope there are many more to come. It was amazing. Voni and I enjoyed our afternoon and evening shooting this event. Dustin was Mr. Laid Back and Janelle was simply beautiful. They made one gorgeous pair. The setting sun went down just in time for the guests to not have to shade their eyes the whole time to see what was going on during the ceremony. The reception was complete with a smoothie machine which everyone made sure they tasted (except me, come to think of it.) After the meal, the newlyweds shared their first dance as husband and wife out on the cobblestone courtyard. It was so sweet. Dustin is so in love with Janelle and it shows like crazy! He was so gentle with her. Dustin & Janelle, your love for each other is strong and your love for the LORD is very evident. Your marriage will soar. Blessings as you begin life together as Mr. & Mrs. Landis!
